It can be a way to hide painful feelings  or problems someone may find difficult to express. A person who has an eating disorder may not necessarily be under or over weight.

An eating disorder can affect someone in lots of different ways,- they may feel depressed, anxious, tired, ashamed, guilty and lack concentration.

Substance abuse is using prescription medicines, illegal and legal substances and/or alcohol too much or in the wrong way. This can lead to other mental health problems and addiction.

Psychosis

Psychosis is when somebody loses some contact with reality. This might involve seeing or hearing things that other people cannot see or hear (hallucinations) and believing things that are not actually true (delusions). It may also involve confused (disordered) thinking and speaking.

Psychosis can occur alongside other mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe depression. However, it can occur from other life events and conditions, too.
